Luxury in Burnaby Heights

Burnaby Heights is a vibrant area straddling both Vancouver and Burnaby

In urban planning circles, there’s plenty of intellectual debate around the importance of creating vibrant ‘communities.’ Which means having schools, parks, recreation, grocery stores (ones which sell healthy food, not just packaged, processed quick-meals), and services that local residents can walk or ride their bikes to.

Located on the flanks of Capitol Hill and straddling both Vancouver and Burnaby, Burnaby Heights lies between two important arterial four-lane roads – Willingdon (running north/south) and Hastings (east/west). But this is a soulful, spirited neighbourhood where people have traditionally stayed for a long time. Generations of families have lived on both sides of the Boundary Road border between Vancouver and Burnaby. The rich selection of traditional Italian and Greek restaurants combined with an eclectic mix of hardware stores, music and art studios, banks, medical and dental offices makes Burnaby Heights a truly authentic community.

Firma is a deluxe residential project featuring 26 upscale dwellings.

It’s also going to be the home of Firma, the second residential project undertaken by Burnaby-based Boffo Developments in the neighbourhood. A self-described ‘boutique developer,’ Boffo has built more than 4,000 homes throughout the Lower Mainland over the past four decades. Consisting exclusively of 26 luxury homes in a variety of sizes and plans, from 1-bedroom homes (722 sq. ft) up to 3-bedroom homes (1,334 sq. ft), Firma is a mixed-use project that will integrate ground floor commercial space and second storey offices. Community Savings Credit Union has signed on as an anchor tenant, and so has the Artspace Childrens’ Arts Centre.

Residents enjoy quality restaurants and shopping.

Typically, demand from realtors and local residents is very strong for Boffo projects, and marketing manager Karen West says Firma is no exception. “We’re already fielding many calls from older Burnaby Heights residents ready to downsize into a luxury apartment,” she says. Despite strong buyer interest, Firma sales will not take place until the project is actually completed in March, 2012. “For people who are out comparison shopping, we strongly believe that we can best illustrate the features and benefits by letting clients see and feel firsthand the attention to detail that Boffo brings to each home.” Efficient space utilization with plenty of room to gather friends and family around a dining room table, airy decks—many with superb views— nine-foot ceilings, and premium quality kitchens equipped with top of the line Miele stainless appliances—these are the sublime touches that your Firma home will feature.
