Show Homes on High

On the 27th level of Park Place, Concord Pacific shows prospective buyers how to achieve high-end design on a real life budget.

Five designers, five show homes, for five completely different buyers. Welcome to Park Place’s 27th level, dubbed the 27th Floor of Dreams. Set in a new highrise development by Concord Pacific Developments Inc. – a 698-condominium project in the heart of the revitalized Surrey City Centre – the 27th floor features five diverse show suites for people in various stages of life.

They include the Downsizer Chic, Modern Family, Live Large Bachelor, Single in the City and Sophisticated First Time Buyer. Concord Pacific has taken a unique angle to selling Park Place by giving prospective buyers an idea of how to achieve high design at an affordable price. Peter Udzenija, project manager with Concord Pacific, explains: “Buyers get design expertise so they can envision the space based on their lifestyle.”

The interior designers were challenged to stay within a budget – ranging from $8,300 to $12,000 – as well as to take into account its location and target markets. “We thought it was a fun concept, one that showcases functional high design for every personality, for real people,” says Udzenija.

“It’s also a chance for everybody to be inspired and for interior designers to show how to decorate beautifully without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars.” Interior designers also show prospective buyers how to choose well-priced accessories and furnishings off the shelf, and mix them with a few more expensive pieces. “In the Live Large Bachelor suite, we show that men can decorate in that masculine industrial look that some might think isn’t possible in a traditional condo,” Udzenija says.

Rien Sharma, interior designer with Revamp Home Staging, was given carte blanche to decorate the Sophisticated First Time Buyer. He went for a contemporary design – young, edgy, but functional and easy to maintain. Park Place continued from Page 40 Periodically, all the five designers will be on site to chat to the public and answer any design question they may have. As well, everyone will receive a shopping list for every suite – which is an inventory of where to purchase the furnishings and paint colours – as well as a 20-per-cent designer voucher from EQ3, just for dropping by. “New buyers will receive free interior design consultation and the furnishings incentive budget to create their own design,” Udzenija adds – a total of up to $18,000 in incentives. In the end, he says, it’s about showing people they can have high-end design on a real life budget.
