Concert Real Estate Takes Six Awards

Seniors’ Community located within UBC campus takes full advantage of its university setting and offers residents access to all the campus’ services

One trip to the podium at the annual Georgie Awards is cause for celebration; six is quite another matter! Such was the case last month when the team from Concert Real Estate Corporation was honoured with six major awards, marking the company’s most successful year to date and surpassing the number earned by any other developer in 2011.

Concert received two of the industry’s most coveted distinctions, the Customer Choice Georgie Awards powered by AVID for Mid Rise Condo Production Builder and the Georgie for Large Volume Multi-Family Home Builder of the Year. This marks the fourth consecutive year Concert has been recognized with a Customer Choice Georgie Award and the fifth time since 2000 that the company has been deemed Home Builder of the Year.

‘Our win for Tapestry speaks to our vision for this community.’

“We are extremely proud to have been repeatedly recognized as the province’s top home builder,” said David Podmore, Concert’s Chairman and CEO. “In addition, the consistent recognition received directly from our homeowners fuels our ongoing commitment to delivering top quality homes backed by superior customer service.”

Concert also took home four awards for the seniors’ community Tapestry at Wesbrook Village UBC, including the Sustainable and Innovative Community Award, Best Multi-Family Landscape Design, Best Brochure and Best Ad Campaign. Located within the University of British Columbia’s South Campus neighbourhood, Tapestry features two six-storey mid rises with rental apartments, condominium homes and street-level retail.

This is the fourth consecutive year Concert has been recognized with a Customer Choice Georgie Award and the fifth time since 2000 that the company has been recognized as Home Builder of the Year.

Taking full advantage of its university setting, Tapestry offers residents access to all the campus’ services and educational programs. Inside the community there’s a UBC-accredited classroom, as well as eco-friendly features such as green roofs, energy-efficient fixtures and superior, earth-friendly finishes.

“Our win in the Sustainable and Innovative Community award category for Tapestry at Wesbrook Village UBC speaks to our vision for this community,” said Brian McCauley, Concert’s President and COO. “A unique, campus-based community offering exceptional rental and condominium homes to discerning seniors, Tapestry was built to adhere to gold sustainability standards, further setting this development apart from its peers.”

Following such an overwhelming success, Concert isn’t resting on its laurels but instead is moving full steam ahead with its efforts to remain one of British Columbia’s top home builders.
